The best view of the mountain

Just at the end of Dashney Road sits the Dashney Nordic Center.  The Center offers 18km of groomed trails for XC skiing and snowshoeing through woods and rolling fields.  Most of the trails (aside from Sugarwoods) are also dog-friendly if your pup needs some outside time too.  Click here to learn more.

When you hear Kingdom Trails you may think of muddy bare legs in the summer sun, but KT is open-weather permitting-all winter too.  From their Nordic Adventure Centre on Darling Hill you can ride or snowshoe the 25 miles of groomed trails all winter long.  Click here to visit the Kingdom Trails website for more information.

In & Around the Water

Deep, clean Lake Willoughby has something for everyone no matter the season.  In the winter, the frozen lake provides some of the best (and scenic) ice fishing and ice climbing in New England.  While you're absorbing the views of Mt. Pisgah on the east and Mt. Hor on the west the area also hosts numerous nordic skiing and snowshoe trails as well as backcountry glade access.

Click here to view maps of the Mt. Hor trails groomed by our friends at Northwoods Stewardship Center.

Click here for more information on backcountry access near and around Burke Mountain thanks to our friends at NEKBC.
